An Industrial Modern Urban Oasis Pied A Terre

Nestled in the vibrant Lakeview neighborhood, this project presented the ultimate blank canvas: raw concrete ceilings and columns, industrial charm, and expansive windows framing urban vistas.

​

Our client, a young Techie new to Chicago, sought to infuse his first "nice home" with comfort and sophistication. With just 980 square feet to work with, our challenge was to craft a multi-functional space accommodating lounge, dining, office, and hosting areas while maintaining an airy feel.

​

Addressing the space's lighting limitations, we introduced plug-in ceiling lights, discreet up-lights, and strategic floor and table lamps for ambiance and functionality.

​

Transitioning from an industrial backdrop to a refined aesthetic, we curated plush fabrics, rich textures, and meticulous craftsmanship, elevating the interior against the raw concrete backdrop.

​

Inspired by the client's travels to Cappadocia and Argentina, our palette remained minimal, warmed by natural woods, sumptuous fabrics, and pops of color, echoing his love for off-the-grid adventures and his Argentinean heritage.

 

The result? An urban oasis exuding professional sophistication and inviting comfort. From the live-edge walnut dining table to the ergonomic home office setup, every detail reflects a balance of style and functionality.
