The Project
AHD completely transformed a cramped and cluttered collection of rooms into an open concept floor plan, where the whole family can feel connected. We reimagined the first floor by relocating the kitchen to a sunnier side of the home, ensuring ample natural light for their baking adventures and expanded the home using the existing enclosed porch area.
The Client
This busy family of five, with two full-time first responders in the medical and fire-fighting fields, sought a transformative change to keep life simple and organized at home so it could be easy to maintain and foster a welcoming atmosphere for large gatherings of family and friends.
Inspiration

The client craved a simple yet organized slower pace living style so we took inspiration from modern cottage living.
She also loves vintage items and has enjoyed collecting pieces over the years so the spaces have a layering of old and new that create a cozy familiar feeling.

Our Approach
Raising the ceiling height was a key design choice, adding an airy feel to the space. Maximizing natural light was essential, leading to updated and new windows throughout.
Months later, we found the home impeccably organized, reinforcing our belief that thoughtful design makes it easy to maintain order—everything has its place!
