Forever by the Lake

A Lake Front Residence

Tower Lakes, Illinois

We were hired to create a forever home for a CEO, with a contemporary aesthetic that would be sleek, timeless and durable to withstand the wear and tear of a the extended visiting family with many grandchildren. We incorporated  natural materials with inherent durability such as walnut hardwood floors, wool and silk rugs and carpets and natural stone countertops and tiling.

In order to create this beautiful home, the owner purchased a run-down existing home, demolished the majority of the home and built this new home on its foundation. We selected a color scheme for the exterior that would blend with the natural environment and feel homey and welcoming.

Given the lake-front location, the views are stunning all year round. In order to not upstage the views, we used light colors and natural tones that complemented the view with the occasional pop of color.

The client preferred a light bright interior accented by contemporary lights that added a gorgeous twinkling effect. We focused the design on the upgraded contemporary Kitchen and Master Suite. In the Master Bedroom we created an accent wall wrapped in woven textile wallcovering, with a subtle shimmer to create an elevated hospitality feel.

The Master Bathroom features a floating vanity with lighting below and a floating countertop with integral sink.

We had a custom large scale artwork created by Irina Negulescu for the living room that tied together the blues and the natural colors throughout the space.

The two-way free-standing fireplace serves both the living room and the dining room and acts as a spatial divider in an otherwise open-concept floor plan.
